Frequently Asked Questions
Will the 1% fee ever increase?
No. 1% is the permanent platform fee. It's baked into our business model — we scale by volume, not by squeezing margins. There will never be hidden fees, listing fees, or surcharges.
Who pays the Stripe processing fees?
You do, as the merchant of record. Stripe's standard 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction is deducted from your payout, same as if you ran Stripe independently. BENED's 1% is a separate application fee on top.
Who handles customer disputes and chargebacks?
You do. With Stripe Connect Direct Charges, you're the merchant of record. Disputes go to your Stripe account, not ours. This also means you have full control over refund policies.
Can I use my existing Printful account?
Yes. Generate a Personal API Token at developers.printful.com/tokens, paste it into the shop dashboard, and we sync your existing products, pricing, and designs. Nothing changes on Printful's end. You keep full control of your Printful dashboard and can revoke the token any time.
Where do I set my product prices?
You set your retail prices inside your Printful dashboard. When you sync products to BENED Shop, those prices carry over automatically. This means your markup over Printful's base cost is entirely up to you — we never interfere with your pricing. Just update the price in Printful and re-sync.
What happens if I cancel Pro?
Your shop stays active on the Free tier. If you have more than 25 listed products, you'll need to choose which 25 to keep listed. No data is deleted.
Do I need identity verification?
It's recommended but not required for basic selling. Stripe will require some identity verification during their Connect onboarding. BENED's identity verification is additional KYC that applies across all BENED services.
Is my data safe?
We use Keycloak SSO with JWT audience validation, HttpOnly cookies, MFA, encrypted API keys, and Stripe's PCI-DSS Level 1 infrastructure. We never store credit card numbers or Printful credentials — everything is token-based OAuth.
